on film

When school starts in August, we’ll be using medium format cameras. Although the school provides a limited number for student use, I was still on the hunt for my own. After months of looking on craigslist, I finally found one in my price range. Met the guy, got the camera (and a lesson, which was awesome), waited for film and a light meter from B&H, then nervously started shooting. Here are the frames, in order, from my first ever roll of 120 film. I’m excited to load up another roll and shoot more!

At one point I didn’t advance the roll far enough; you can see the frame where Kristine’s cap got cut off. I’ll have to be more careful next time. Also, I didn’t do any editing on these at all. I want a record of this new venture without any lightroom futzing.

Shot on the new-to-me Mamiyaflex C2 with 80 mm lens on Kodak TriX 400 black and white film.
